Probable patron god of Early Classic Tikal and Caracol.
The Baby Jaguar will grow up to become Bearded Jaguar God.
The Bearded Jaguar God (BJG) aka. GIII of the Palenque Triad and the Jaguar God of the Underworld (when the sun, (K'inich: sun god) sets, Maya thought that it went to travel through Xibalba, the Underworld, and when it did, it did so by acquiring the aspects of BJG. When it raises again, K'inich is in charge again.)
BJG can personify both sun and Venus god depending on the ritualistic context.
Also, appears in Copan, Palenque, and Quirigua.
